You're lucky we're having what we can afford and not what I like. Macedonian Mix (peas, carrots, corn, green beans) is what I can afford. What I like are Brussels sprouts.

Why is it called Macedonian Mix?

Oh yes, they are lovely things -- the side effects can be less pleasant, mind

I have no idea, Coldfire. That's just what I'm used to seeing it as. I think that's a translation from the French version of "Mixed Vegetables" but don't quote me on it. Between "Macedonian Mix" and "Mixed Vegetables", one has green beans, peas, carrots and corn and the other has lima beans added.

*lol* I don't have that problem with sprouts, nox. Not that I remember. I used to buy a lot of sprouts a few years ago when my oldest was at home. *lol* She'd eat a kg of it in one sitting, if I let her. The youngest would have cauliflower and broccoli and the oldest would have sprouts. I'd have all three.

Your family obviously share a genetic resistance to these poisons!

*lol* Yeah, I get it from my mother's side of the family. They were related to Rapunzel. I get my love of anchovies from my dad's side of the family. They were fisherfolk, way, way back.

And, at long last, I finally read the Rapunzel story (I Googled for it!)

I'm glad that Peg likes anchovies. Healthy and delicious food. Perhaps they contain an antidote to the cabbage poison.

I dunno. I don't think my dad ever ate sprouts. I don't remember seeing him do that, anyway, and he ate what we did. I think. We had a small kitchen, so my parents ate in the living room while we ate at the table. *lol* I was too busy fighting with my brother to really notice, to be honest.
