Yes. It is also the same as xp because it is an upgrade version of xp created by microsoft company™. It has new features and good quality graphical user interface.

But whats complicated about vista is that it require high spec of your pc.

Now. Microsoft Co. has release their new vesion of windows. Windows 7. It is also an upgrade version of Microsoft OS.

New Operating System means high specs requirements.

the difficulty of vista (or any OS) is pretty much related to how much you want to do with it...

everyday use, Vista is pretty easy. Setting up stuff is about as easy in vista as anything else - although you can still get yourself in a mess if you wander off the instructions.

but there's a reason why there're still paid professionals for computers and IT...

the advantages of vista are:

comes with a Beautifully designed all new interface/ theme/ backgrounds
all new faster and safer security features
the latest Internet explorer
new and upgraded parental security features
brand new windows media player

but it also has its disadvantages
many people prefer xp over vista as xp is said to be more secure and also has less buggs(things wrong) with it

hope this helps

afterburn will become famous soon enough
actually all most all bugs in windows vista are related to code that was in XP; so inherited code to say and thus XP too has the same bugs.

Reasons people do not like Vista are unrelated to bugs themselves more like annoying prompts from the UAC to do somethings you take for granted in XP. However this is a good thing on networks to stop users from attempting to do things like make settings/changes that aren't needed or are a security risk.

something microsoft have done right with vista and have kept with windows 7 is that alot of the features run from ram. this means the more ram you have the faster your machine will run. and the addiction of ready boost can change a flash drive in to ram that the cpu can use(obviously no where near as fast as normal ram).

yes that is its drawing card however if you don't have the sufficient hardware it will also be its downfall. with vista and now windows 7 you can no longer go and buy an average machine, you need lots of ram and a fairly high end cpu and preferably a graphics card( or a pretty good GPU). it now cost the consumer more to setup a standard machine than it did 2-3 years ago.

sorry - i'll be sure to add 'sarcasm' tags next time :p

my point was that ALL operating systems load active services and applications into available RAM - otherwise they wouldn't work all that well...

it might be that Windows 7 is better at managing memory allocation so that more frequently requested services are more likely to be in RAM than in the Virtual Memory, and therefore that much faster to respond - but using RAM is not exactly new...

with regards to price - i actually think that prices on computers have been pretty static (or even slightly reduced) for each of the 'bands' of computers - high end games, high end database, mid range office, mid range games, etc...
