ftp file permissions - HTML Forums

What should I set the file and folder permissions on the server at to be able to modify/delete them via ftp. I am using FireFTP and I can add files and edit the files that I have added but I can not modify existing files on the server. I assume it is a permissions issue since I get an access violation error message.

yeah I would allow write permissions on the FTP Iis site. or on the directory depends on setup maybe even both

Would it be "safe" to look at the permissions on the files that I successfully ftp'ed to the site and then apply those permissions site-wide? What does that open me up too?

apply permissions to the FTP user specifically for Full Control. In order for a user to be able to have any surface area they must first authenticate
