In Need Of A CMS

Hello one and all. First off let me say thanks in advance for any and all help.

Now the question; I am working on building my companies site, a Photography studio. As such i need a website with a gallery, a place to sell prints of our art, news (i know every cms does news well), a page for new people to fill out a form to get a quote for work, and a client area for customers to get there photos.

I kinda figure ill need two scripts, one for the site and another for the client area. Im fine with that, its just theres so many CMS that its hard to pick one to dive into. Im hoping to find one that comes with or has an ecommerce module/addon/plugin for selling our prints.

If anyone has any ideas on the right CMS for me, id be much appreciative.

Thanks,
Corey E.

What sort of skills do you have? I'd say have a look at Joolma simply because theres ALOT of support and development for it.

At the moment I'm on a year long project (after hours) building a new dynamic CMS Framework for developers. It won't be ready any time soon, it's all in beta testing

I've used Joomla (years ago) and wasn't that happy with it. Granted it probably a lot different now.

I've got some background in php, enough to handle minor edits, and doing things such as making custom templates, but a good easy to use template engine is a plus. I just really need something that has with it, or as an addon, a gallery and ecommerce.

I also recommend joomla. There are some great joomla plugins and themes available now for free or low cost.

I also tried Joomla a couple of years ago and didn't like it. but about 6 months ago I had a client that insisted on Joomla. I tried 1.5 for the first time and now that is my primary way of developing sites. It is a lot different from the old 1.0.

I used Joomla a while ago too and was not that impressed, however I have also heard that it has changed lots in 1.5. I have been asked to develop a site for a company selling car parts online. Does anyone think that the above mentioned is still the best option???

thanks
