The first thing that really sticks out to me is that the header graphics, and navigations dont match, it throws off the theme of your site. Second you should code the tables so that your page doesnt scroll horizontally on lower resolution monitors.

As far as traffic goes you could have the best looking site in the world but if you dont promote it you wont have any hits. Work on getting link trades and search engine positioning and your traffic will rise.

For a first site, it's really good. You stuck with a simple layout, which is smart when learning... people often try to get too complicated too quickly and wind up with a mess. But you avoided that

Fonts: I don't like how there are several different fonts. You should try to have as few as possible... I always try to have only one font, two at the very most. It gives the page a more pro, uniform feeling.

Graphic on the side: I don't feel that it blends well with the rest of the page. It's too rectangular and separate from everything else. Maybe if you came up with a way to make it blend better.... ? Such as tabling the top part and putting borders around all of it to keep it flowing...? Be careful with that though, because borders can look like ****e if they're done sloppily. Try using CSS. There is a good CSS tutorial at www.htmlgoodies.com and also at www.webmonkey.com ... or maybe just a horizontal line? Who knows. Mess around with it a little.

Links at the bottom: I like how they're a small font, maybe you should change them from default blue to a color that blends better with the shades already on your page. Also, they should be centered.

It's great for a first attempt, you should feel proud of yourself.

Dave,

Your comment about not getting many hits caught my attention. Your website covers an important but very specific topic. It is also related to a relatively small geographic area. I suspect it may never get alot of hits (whatever you think that might be). Plus, any new website, unless heavily advertised, can't expect to receive many hits. Give it time.

Regards,
Kevin
