Hi Simonts,

You've posted a good question. many people that have developed sites in very heavily populated domains will experience this problem.

The cause of this is that many search engines only allow up to 50 URLs from one domain every day. And since tripod, geocities, and xoom all give you urls as a subdomain, or in a directory on their domains, if there were 50 people before you submitting, you're out of luck. This makes it difficult since there are thousands of submssions from members of those sites daily.

I think you could probably get around this problem if you used a redirection service, the less popular the service is, the easier it will be to get listed with it. You can find some listed on our site here: http://www.123webmaster.com/Free_Services/Shorter_URLS/

It is important though, to make sure that the service does not put your site n a frame, as the search engines will not get a page inside anohter frame. It ust be strictly an alias. I hope this helps.
