LOL, yeah - Obama is the man tho, In the usa, it really sucks because when the republicans have control of the usa - they make us seem like selfish idiots, and when the dems are in office we turn into a nice "do for all" country. People on the outside must thing the usa has terrests
Actually the democrats have quite a bit of control now but are refusing to do with anything. And even before they gained the majority they had lots of power to stop the republicans, they refused to do that. So yes, republicans do have a lot of blame for what has happened over the last 8 years but the democrats certainly share some responsibility.
I stopped looking at democrat vs republican a long time ago, as far as I'm concerned they are both strictly looking out for their own interests, most of them don't give a crap about us.
The dems can't do anything because bush veto's everything they try to pass. They have the majority in congress, but it's not enough to 2/3rds bush and get by his veto. They seem to be waiting / hoping for a democrat president that won't veto things out of a republican perspective.
They have a lot more power than you think, they are playing the victim card. I'm getting a little fed up with it.
Need the war to stop? Simple, don't fund it. Need to pass legislation Bush is going veto? Attach it to another bill that he needs, such as the military budget.
In addition, the democrats had more than enough power in the last 8 years to stop most of this mess, even if they didn't have the majority. They could have fillibustered every bad legislation out there including the Iraq War Resolution, they refused because they were too concerned about their political asses at the time.
They don't care for our interests, they care about their interests. This election is another case of having to pick between the lesser of 2 evils. That's life so we all better get used to it. But try not to look at this in the perspective that one side is good while the other is bad, it really doesn't work that way.
I refuse to vote for either party. The rare occasions I do vote, it's always libertarian, just for the principle.
But moving takes its toll, and I lost track of what forms I need to fill out and where I'm suppose to be registered, and where my vote will actually count. I think I'll pass this year...

over the years, they're probably elected a number of drunks to office... law of averages and all that...
and, as the west wing points out, law of averages says that there was probably at least one president in the oval office who was a cross-dresser
