first time renting a car help!
hi all. I will be renting a car this upcoming week for a 2 day trip to chicago,IL. What happens if i get into a car accident?

You'd have to ask the people you're renting the car from. Different places have different insurance policies.

well i'm looking up online for the best prices and there is a collision protection insurance available. I'm kinda just wanted to know if anyone has rented a car before and know what to do in that case.

If you're hiring from a major rental company (avis, budget, etc), then the pack they give you with the car should have details on who to call in the event of an accident - you should have details of the insurer, or at the least a hotline number with the company and they will assist you with getting recovery, etc...
