I use McAfee at work and it seems to do a decent job. If I used windows at home (Ubuntu for the win!) I would probably download AVG free. AVG seems to be the standard for free for personal use AV.

Yeah why AVG and AVIRA is not included in your poll hehehe Just asking.. but as for the topic.. I'll choose Kaspersky.. Low cost and specially effective.. also the freeware of kaspersky is a good choice.. don't spent a lot of money to a software that only can do is a never ending promise..

Go with Kaspersky. I've been with Kaspersky AV for more than 3 years. Its really awesome. The best advantage with KAV is that it uses less PC resources.

Re: Who has the best AntiVirus program?

Avira anitvirus has a free edition which I feel is pretty good, a lot better than AVG which is what a lot of people seem to use as a free anti virus. Run this with Spybot which just monitors all the processes in the background to make sure nothing dodgy gets through at all.

I have to say I don't like any of the ones mentioned above! NOD32 or VIPRE for me. They are just faster and less resource hogging / invasive than the others (esp Norton and McAfee - never use them!).
