Just preference, but it's mine, and I like it.

I still like Firefox, but for different reasons I also like IE - all depends on what I need at that point in time.

If I had to choose only one to use, it'd be IE cause I wouldn't want to limit myself by going with just Firefox.
Well even if you don't like it you can still go the way IE does. But tabs makes things soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much easier.

Tabs rock! Especially when you have disabled the explorer process.

Now that I know what tabs are (dunno how I thought it was something else), I got a new opinion.. Ok, not really. I hate IE when it tabs like that (yes, IE is capable--on my laptop at least). I prefer to assign each page it's own little world; who cares how much space it takes up on the RAM or whatever. I checked the Task Manager thingy (something I just discovered recently), and my performance isn't affected by having everything tabbed or not.

I guess it could help some, but I find it very annoying--worse than my original idea of tabs! Agh! Kill the tabbing!

From what you described (one icon at the bottom, multiple pages, etc.), yes it does. Maybe it's just that Windows XP forces it to? I don't know for sure, but I've had it before and got annoyed because I'm so used to seeing the title for each page in an icon and clickin it in one easy step...

No no no, that's still not tabs. I personally can't stand what you're talking about.

Here, i'll take a screenshot of using tabs.

Notice how in the screen i have multiple websites and forum threads open in the same window. Look at the taskbar at the bottom to see what programs i'm running. There's only one browser instance open, not a single window for each page.

Oooooh! Hehe--sorry for the mix up... ...again...

IE definitely doesn't have that, and now that I've seen it, I'm intrigued... Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Well, for me the choice is clear (there's clear, and then their's Firefox clear -- sorry I couldn't resist )

I mean for all the reasons mentioned above, its

1. Faster, many times in IE it takes forever for pages to render...

2. Tab browsing is a must, the last time I was at the library ( stupid idiots, they dont have firefox) I had like 30 IE windows open...

3. Themes, I LOVE Qute, its just awesome

4. Extensions, Dont like how firefox does or doesn't do something? Just write and extension and change it!

5. Built in RSS reader - In 1.0 PR, they have "Live bookmarks" which basicly gets an RSS feed, and treats it like a bookmak folder

6. Theme switching - If the webmaster has coded his website with multiple stylesheets, you can easily switch between the two.

7. Its FREE and AD-FREE!

8. Security, I used to get tons of adware/apyware on my computer, now that I use firefox, I haven't had one sinlge spyware file on my coputer for 6 months..

9. Did I mention its just plain cool?

10. There are more, my fingers are just requesting a break

11. I hate Opera, it is total crap when it comes to Javascript, and renders everything wrong, even if its perfectly valid code!

Thanks for your opinion! I've heard many of those examples before, but some were useful. A few, however, make me lean towards IE again... I'm getting nowhere pretty fast!

this might be a little off topic, but does firefox render images a little bit different? colour-wise i mean. if you check the link in my sig and compare the background in firefox or IE it looks much better in IE. and that's the way it looks in photoshop too (the way i want it to look, in other words). anything i can do about it?

No, I compared them side by side and there is no visible difference.. it may render HTML a tad differently, but for images it renders them the same lol

It's really no big deal, but I had to share the great news...

I downloaded Firefox! Even after just a minute of use, the speed is amazing. I thought those comments of 2x faster were all exaggerations. Guess not; I'm impressed! So many more features, and if not, it's a lot better organized. Only a few minutes of use, and I'm having a blast. I.. Have.. Converted!!

Oh yeah! And all the firefox lover rejoice, a new soul saved for the poor wrenches of microsoft and crappy web browsers! LOL, Glad you like firefox, to be honest I haven't even opened IE in like 2 months, and when I do its only for making sure my site is compatible with trash, er, IE

Also, check out http://update.mozilla.org, and take a peek at what else firefox can do!
