Exclamation Adware

HALLO PPL! I was just wondering whether anyone of you could give me some advice on which software is the best to remove adware and spyware.

Recently my Norton Anti Virus has found some adware in my PC and failed to delete them. They are MyWebSearch and NTsearch. These two adware has affected my IE.

Could anyone pls tell me what to do now and how to prevent it occuring in the future?

entimp will become famous soon enough
You'll want this in the software forum for a better reply.

In short it is a hard fight to stop it all coming in.

* block pop ups.
* have a good fire wall.
* get a dedicated ad-ware detector and update it often.
* update your virus catalogue often.
* if you use ME or XP create back up points often.

it is impossible to beat it all... it is possible to be on the ball though.

for ad-aware try one of these: http://www.tucows.com/webbrowser_adw...r_default.html

spybot is a good bet.

If ad-ware is not able to remove the adwares from your PC then try spybot - http://download.com.com/3000-8022_4-...5.html?tag=pop

um, didn't this get answered in the lounge?

It's usually best to have a mod move a post that was in the wrong forum rather than reposting.

However, I'll re-interate what was said there (I think)

My personal favorite = spybot
Another one many people like = Adaware

I believe there are links to those in your other post

try http://www.pestpatrol.com/

unfortunately, you have to pay to get the full version that deletes the adware, whatever you have. The free version only detects them, but can not delete.

Thanks for the tips and sorry for repeating it. I was not aware. Anyway, I have tried the Spybot and mostly others but it still could not remove the "blue colored toolbar- Mywebsearch" that is in my IE.

Is there any other way?

I did try Ad Aware 6.0 but it did not help to solve my problem. As for the Pest Patrol, I had to purchase full version for it. Therefore I did not try it. Anyway, have anyone of you came across this problem before???

I may consider to get the full version of Pest Patrol if it really works.

I have the full version. It works perfect, and finds things that other software can't find. I recommend!

Thanks. Looks like I really have to give it a try! The mywebsearch toolbar is really annoying me and affected my IE.

Hope things work

But try first with the free version. If it finds something (and it found alot on my comp), you can purchase the full version to delete the stuff.

ok, why purchase anything if the best ones are free???

to get rid of the WebSearch br you can try this

Download CWShredder at http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4086.html

Run CWShredder, check you have the current version by clicking check for update and let it update
Close all browser windows, click on the cwshredder.exe then click "FIX" (Not "Scan only") and let it do its thing.

I will also advice in removing any toolbar extras you have. those are also considered spyware. so stuff like ask jeeves toolbar should go.

if this doesn't work please download HiJackThis and then post the info it shows you.

hijackthis doesn't remove anything, it just lists what starts up when you start your computer. hope you didn't delete all that it showed cause you need some of it.

that is why I asked you to post it before deleting it.
