I took the day off yesterday and worked from home by using VNC etc... Never noticed how slow my work computer was till then.... (well I always knew it was bloody slow). So I had to come in today, to work on some Flash MicroSites (latest new thing displaying homes n stuff in multimedia sites) since it would be very difficult doing it from home, besides had a few meetings as well otherwise I'd work from home always!
Spent the first 4 hours with a mind blowing headache, only to realize it gets worse when I get more and more work piled on to me!
Note to self; take a week off, if I'm sick aga

Work has been hectic with so many projects and site maintenance, we're down one programmer so I'm the only one. Good thing is that, for the seven weeks I've been working at New Litho/Real Estate Media I've successfully made seven fully functional websites. We're looking to hire more people hopefully that makes life easier on me... I also get a promotion at the end of the year woohoo! Team Leader!1!1!!
Besides all the projects at work, I've got so much after-hours web designing projects to deal with as well... Which leaves me with no time for my beautiful girlfriend... She doesn't mind tho! (not)

For the longest time, I resisted having to upgrade to a new OS. I *Liked* the Mac OS9.2. It worked just fine, did everything I wanted it to and was generally a nice, comfortable environment to work in.
Then I got the MacPro. MacPro's don't come with OS9.2. They come with OSX10.4 and lots of space to put things. There's only one thing that MacPros *can't* do (besides the dishes and I'm working on that). They can't talk to computers that use Mac OS9.2. <sigh> Back to the drawing board, right? Short of a miracle, there's no way I can get 60Gbs of information off my old computer and onto the new one, is there?

I think I'm getting the hang of this...I know what I want to do, now all I have to do is figure out how to do it...again without excessive hair-pulling...this is going to involve pictures and what-not.and Lady only knows what all.And If you think that prospect makes me nervous...yer right...It does

Alright...I've gotten started, sort of...with Stephen not harping on how I'm a natural on computers, I'm more relaxed...that is to say, more baffled then usual. I have the site up...now what do I do? I know what I would like to see...the question is...how do I get there? Preferably with as little pain as possible. If I hadn't blown off school so much back in the day...I should have taken the computer courses they offered...I might stand a better chance at this.

I'm coming to the point of having to make a decision on something...
I started out building a CMS/templating/plugin system a few months ago in order to make my life easier when I start working on development for a living (still waiting for the visa, so unable to get paid for work right now) - things are going well with that, so I'm starting to think in terms of a release...
So, what licence?
1. Keep it proprietary
I could keep the system proprietary - there are a few advantages to this:[list][*]it gives me an edge when designing sites as I have the core system ready to be adapted to the customer's requirements (although with the glut of CMSs out there, this is only a slight edge)

I'm back and except for tearing my hair out and developing severe eyestrain, trying to get a website up and running just sucks!!! Having never done anything like this before, I don't know the right questions to ask or who to ask...plus, I'm embarassed, everyone is computer savvy. Stephen says I take to the computer like a natural, I respectfully disagree...I am self-taught...but not coding or web design or all the rest of it.After reading the comments from Horus and Garrett <hugs guys> You have no idea how much better that makes me feel about this whole thing, I did make one decision though...

Some of the more astute (and probably older members) will recognise the ripoff title (there was a very bad game called "I Have No Mouth And I Want To Scream!" back in the early/mid-90s).
Anyway - the computer that I have all of my software on which I am using to make a CMS and some site designs on is a laptop. It is a laptop whose power socket no longer makes a connection to the jack... meaning that it won't power on...
This sorry state of affairs has been going on for a week - and while I do have a replacement part on order and in transit - I don't know when it will arrive. So, I have no computer! and I want to code!
