Password Protect Downloads

I have created a website for my Dungeons & Dragons gaming group and part of the website has a section where they can download various documents that I have created over the years for the group. Is there any simple and easy (and free!) way that I can require them to put in a password in order to download these files? I am not looking for any fancy encryptions or something that would stump a hacker, but just something that would stump your casual viewer who is not a member of my D&D group. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Take care and have a great day....

ciao,
john.

What you want is going to require server-side programming, not just HTML. I've moved the thread over to the appropriate forum for you. There are some fairly simple code scripts out. I just don't know off the top of my head where to find them. Someone in SSP will know, though.
