no, I didn't say end task, I said disable the service. totally different things. it is not a registery setting so to speak, it is a service. and if you disable the service it doesn't come back.

What I understand is that the XP OS is vulnerable to attackers when you first get it. You need to IMMEDIATELY install all the security patches and updates such as service pack 2 or your toast. On average, a new XP OS will be hacked by 5 different hackers in 3 minutes online when not patched correctly. Ofcourse if buy your computer from a retailer, it should have everything set. Its important to do it yourself when your reformat your computer.
