I think the only way to improve page rank is to buy links that have high pr to related to your sites as it will also help you in search engine ranking that will in return may give you site traffic too.

Page is the credibility of a site. It is calculated based on the number of back links that you are getting. In order to get tons of back links, participate on the techniques like blog commenting, forum posting, classified ads, press release, social bookmarking, etc..

I think improving your PR would require you to have quality backlinks from sites with high PR. That's one sure way..

Take your time,research and write useful content and you will see that other bloggers will link naturally to your post.

Also try Sponsor or buy custom wordpress themes and give them away for free.Submit them to wordpress themes directories,you will have a link in footer of every blog that uses that theme.

You can also translate wordpress plugins to your native language to get more backlinks.Tip: Get a PageRank 6 backlink from CSS Naked Day if you translate their simple page into another language.

PR is ration between number of inbound and outbound links. If you have more inbound links then outbound links your PR will improve after some time.
