HTML vs PHP pages?

Hello

I am just finishing an SEO job for one of our main clients.

I instructed our designer to use basic html for all the important pages I have optimised for, the core and long tail phrases.

He has just shown me the finished site, all the pages are php even the ones I specifically asked to be HTML.

Q: does Google and the like index and rank php pages the same as HTML or will I have to get the designer to redo the main pages as basic HTML?

Everyone's thoughts, opinions, and experiences are much appreciated.

Best regards

it really shouldn't matter that you're using PHP instead of HTML files - the output as seen by Google is still HTML...

Yeah, I agree with Horus. I did my site all with .asp and they got indexed by search engine.

karthimx is on a distinguished road
Yeah the final output which renders and shown is an plain HTML file ... so no problem for search engine to find them out.... try to add your site in http://www.google.com/webmasters/ for Google to identify in a better way.

My site is indexed in Google : www.karthimx.in .... so add your site map in the above mentioned google webmaster link ....

All above points are good, but there is one small tiny thing... if you have dynamic content that is produced via the URL - search engines may have a mess of it.

E.g.

http://www.mystore.com/products/shoe...e=5&colour=red

As far as Google knows, you have one page by that name - but theoretically you may have 100's in the database.

In cases like this, producing site maps really help! There are many scripts on the net now days that produce site maps for dynamic websites, or you can code up your own. But this is really to help your site get more pages index. So with a site map, providing 100 links with dynamic content can really help.
