My site is new, and it's a casual endeavor of mine, but I still want to get traffic to it of course. I was thinking about using a free (only method I'm using at the moment ) banner exchange. I figure that if I put it on the bottom of my page it's not going to detract that much from the site (or is that wrong?), but it might get me a few hits.

So my basic question is, do you think it's worth it to use a banner exchange? If you do, which one would you recommend?

OK, here we go again. Perhaps you would like to join 4everyplace ads system. It;s the only one that allows text ads as well as traditional banners, and uses keywords to target your banners. Their CTRs are much higher than most banner exchanges. It's a new service, but it looks very promising. http://ads.4everyplace.com/
