Playback MP3 files? - HTML Forums

This looks like a simple problem, I hope the solution is simple.

I have designed my website primarily on Mac OS X. Now, as you may or may not know, all Macs come with the Quicktime media player from Apple. However, on Windows, when I link to an MP3 file, and click on that link from a computer that doesn't have Quicktime installed (remember, we're considering all scenarios here), the computer tries to DOWNLOAD the file! How can I make it so that the file plays back without any media player other than Windows Media Player?

You should use a flash music player component to load the MP3 file, instead of placing a link to your MP3 file directly. Check out this web mp3 player sample -- it plays MP3 file inside a flash music player which works the same way on different OS or browsers.
