Here's how
Welcome to the forums by the way!
If you go to Profile and then choose Edit Options,
Scroll down to the Avatar section and click on Change Avatar.
When the page loads, scroll down to the 'Use custom avatar' section and select the 'Yes' radio button.
Go down to where it says 'You can upload an avatar from your computer and click the Browse button. Find the image file and click OK.
Then click on Submit Modifications.
That's it.
Remember that your avatar can only be 60x60 pixels in size so you may need to reduce your image accordingly or it won't work.

Why thank you kind sir... That's exactly what I needed! At last, something works! For some reason I couldn't view my Avatar page... It came up blank. you must have the magic touch! Thanks for the welcome Goldilocks, and everyone else, too!
