hi!

I'm joining today because I am a basic level coder, mostly self-taught and recreational fun with my geek friends.

Then here at work I have our website, e-newsletter and a slew of other things thrust upon me and I'm swimming but barely! LOL

If it weren't for deadlines and the fact I am still a sales assistant, admin assistant to the president, etc etc etc.. this would be a lot of fun.

Seriously considering learning more and doing something with coding as a career...

I'm hoping I learn alot here and can find help when life is kicking me in the teeth with coding issues.

Right now I'm working directly in our FTP with html, css, php

and a few touches of this or that. And I'm fighting against our new Sonic Wall stuff that is making it impossible to look up all the things I need.

So that is another slice of fun. lol

Well, That is about it.

I hope I meet a lot of great people here. I don't know I'll be much help to anyone else, but I certainly hope one day I will be!

You'll find that most people around here are friendly and knowledgeable. Don't be afraid to ask if you run into problems. :-]

Me: "Uhh . sure.. can i save the world first?"
Them: "This is your priority and that world saving one is due in an hour."
Me. "Riiiight"
Them: "Why is all this paperwork stacking up?"
Me: "..."

Feel free to ask all the questions you like. The only "stupid" ones we recognize are the ones you're too afraid to ask. Everything else is fair game for an honest and, hopefully, helpful answer.

*lol* I know how you feel. I used to work in an office with four bosses and *everything* had to be done "now!" Made for some interesting moments as I prioritized on my own.

I have 7 bosses, and 5 jobs around here plus that misc wand waving thing.. and that is 8 hours of my day.. LOL

The rest of my life is just as bad.

But hey.. you have nights liek Sat was pina colada night.. you get by LOL

I've been handling coffee for about 35 years, Alth, including a stint as a clerk for a tea and coffee brokerage.

OMG Give me my Yogi Teas, My Dragonwell Loose Leaf, and my dark, rich, STRONG coffee

and I could live off JUST that.

Unless someone brings by good pizza, or cake, or .. chinese food.. or sushi.. or you know.. something good.. but other than that.
