By the way - I have only been able to build site by using Homestead Editor at their free sites...but I truly want to learn on my own. What I am trying to do is have a table on the left for my navigation buttons and a table on the right that I use for my text.

Do you mean using Pagemill or just html?
I don't use PageMill but here's a page for tutorials on Pagemill. http://www.adobe.com/products/tips/pagemill.html

Also, you might want to check out www.htmlgoodies.com for basic html help and then later on, www.webmonkey.com

Put the two tables into one bigger table. this is called nested tables eg..

<TABLE BORDER=0>

<TR>

<TD VALIGN=top>
INSERT TABLE 1 HERE
</TD>

<TD VALIGN=top>
INSERT TABLE 2 HERE
</TD>

</TR>
</TABLE>

new2this,

If its a simple two column layout, you might not need seperate tables, just close out a cell and start a new cell in the same row.

Something like this maybe,

<TABLE (any table attributes)>
<TR (any row attributes)>
<TD (any cell attributes)>
navbutton1<br>
navbutton2<br>
navbutton3<br>
etc
etc
</TD>
<TD (any cell attributes)>
your text here
</TABLE>

if that won't work try using nested tables as described by Doni.

Regards,
Kevin
