graphic design software

Hi, I know there's a lot of designers here, so I thought it would be ok to post this. What design software would you recommend for creating digital editions of newsletters and magazines? No, not something like Acrobat or InDesign - the other, "other" software, where you can add elements for navigation and user friendliness. This is the kind of software that is strictly for putting together digital versions of newsletters and magazines, and you may or may not be able to add some bells and whistles, depending on the software.

What is the best out there, what is the worst, and price range?

I know of a free one where you have to keep their logo and there's limited elements you can add...

RysChwith will become famous soon enough
Are you talking about a magazine website or something that replicates a magazine on the screen (i.e., flipping pages and such)?

If it's the former, it's really no different from setting up any other website -- at least as far as software goes. If it's the latter, I recommend PageFlip. I think they still have a free version available, but it requires that you have Flash.

Why don't you try Adobe Pagemaker. This is meant to do all these stuff. Virtual Newspapers and magazines will look great in it.
