Animated GIF
Is there any good reason why an animated GIF will not open in Opera?
It's fine in Firefox, IE7 and Netscape.

I have not experienced any problems with Opera and animated gifs.
Can we see your problematic gif so that we can test it also?

Hi there prospero,

The animated gif works OK in my version of Opera - 9.23.

I believe that some ad blockers have an option to "de-animate" GIFs .
Also other proxies and security programs may include that feature.

Try this first, though....
  1. open Opera browser.
  2. click the 'Tools' tab.
  3. scroll down to and click 'Quick preferences'.
  4. if 'Enable GIF/SVG animation' is not ticked, then click it.
  5. if it is already ticked , then all I can suggest is that you try the Opera forum.
