  • Combining Response.write with HTML?

    Hello

    I am trying to get the syntax for this file correct - without much luck.

    At the moment I have a 'final page' that tells the user on screen that he has successfully registered. Now, when he logs out of that screen, I would like him to be taken back to my Register1.asp file when he clicks on the 'Logout' link.

    This is what I have:
    Code:
    <% Response.Buffer = True %>

    <HTML>
    <head>
    <title>Final Page</title>

    </head>

    <body>

    Successfully registered

    <br>
    <p>

    !<--<a href="">Logout</a></p> -->

    <%
     Response.Redirect ("<a href="http://www.bayingwolf.com/schoolsReg/Register1.asp>")Logout</a>"
     %>

    </body>

    </HTML>
    I am getting an error here which doesn't make sense to me:

    Microsoft VBScript compilation error '800a03ee'

    Expected ')'

    /schoolsReg/success1.asp, line 22

    Response.Redirect ("<a href="http://www.bayingwolf.com/schoolsReg/Register1.asp>")Logout</a>"
    -----------------------------^
    Thanks for any help with this syntax.

    this portion of the string being written has not been escaped.

    href="http

    it has a double quote that ends the string. In VB you would need a to have double double quotes "" to escape itself.
