  • Best Domain Registrar?

    Hey, Just looking for advice...
Can someone help me choose the BEST domain registrar...
Im looking at godaddy and Domainmonster at the moment but thought i may be able to get better....

So, by best i mean .. the most for the less...So can someone point me in the right direction for a registrar providing the cheapest domain .com registration service and best features...the features of domainmonster.com have everything i want so if you can find something like that but cheaper?...

    Thanks in advance...

    All advice appreciated XD
    Dan...

Cheaper than Godaddy by pennies, and they also do a private registration.

I know this isnt really the place for this, but i saw the stuff about godaddy.com and was wondering, after taking a look, do they offer anything like dynamic dns? asin, the domain tracks my dynamic IP and updates itself? and can i add an MX record to the dns server for a purchased domain?

                thanks

Hmmm. I just recently got mine through godaddy. I was able to get private registration but it cost 4.99 extra, and that was a promotional discount from their normal price of 8.99 for private registration.

I did get a 20% off digital coupon though.

total I payed a touch over $12 for 1 .com domain with private registration. I just got it pointed at my dns server yesterday, and it takes a while to update, but am not going to be able to upload to it until later tonight after I get off of work.

It's www.JoshtheAspie.com , in case anyone is wondering.

I also recommend 1and1, and i've bought domain/hosting packages from godaddy as well, and i have to say 1and1 beats them out completly, for example, a lot of the features that comes with the package is a separate option to be paid for in go daddy

I believe www.namecheap.com are awesome domain sellers.

                          1. They are cheap, only $8.88USD per year
                          2. Free whois cover for a year with transfers, and new registrations.
                          3. Unbeatable customer support. They will ALWAYS help you. I was once short 8 cents of a domain, and they gladly accepted.

now here is my views on domains: I own a small webhosting company and probally have bought 50 + domains in my time.

http://www.dynadot.com : I buy all my domains through them and refer everyone i know to them. they have the best service, prices are set right, domain cp is very easy to navigate especially if u have lots of domians like i do. i have over 30 there now and its great to navigate and edit them as needed. This is my choice and highly recomended. also when i transfered my domain it took 2 days total to do the whole transfer(i was surprised)

http://www.godaddy.com : more expensive than most, support not as great, i also found it a little hard to navigate the domain cp and more, just didnt like them much at all.

http://www.namecheap.com : just didnt like the wbesite or service in general. also had lots of problems with them. i wont go into detials about the problems but i will neve buy a domain here

http://www.bluehost.com : they have great support until you buy something, after i bought a domain i had to send 3 emails, 4 tickets, and wiated almost a week before they responded. they neevr once responded to any tickets just my emails. i would stay away from them as well.

http://www.ace-host.net : just stay away thats all i can say and all i will say.

http://www.MadDogDomains.com : very cheap domains but thats all youll get dotn even think about support

so in the end i would go with http://www.dynadot.com and if you must go with another company then go daddy would be a ok second

please dont flame me for these reviews as these are just my views and yours may be different i am in the process of testing lots of domain hosts ut as we speak
