very confused.. need help.. with flash and/or javascript
I need help with creating a flash are in which I can have 5 images that play through, fading into each other....

similar to http://www.colorwarepc.com/

how would I go about this?

I tried in flash but the file size was humongous... 3mb(too big for a website)

are there other ways?

For something like that, your file size is going to be controlled primarily by the sizes of your images. If you have some photo editing software, try reducing the physical dimensions there before you import them into Flash. Scaling them in Flash doesn't reduce the actual file weight of the images.
