Shopping Cart?

Hi,

I'm about to build a new website that I want to be able to sell about 30/40 products on. I've never had any experience with ecommerce and was wondering where to start. Does anyone know of a good, simple package to use. I don't mind spending a bit but don’t want to break the bank.

I was thinking of Paypal's Pro Solution. It's $30/month which isn't too bad and keeps credit card transactions on the website (doesn’t wonder over to paypal). Does anyone have any experience with Paypal Business?

Any information would be great. Thanks

Ecommerce Software

Hi Erme,

I searched high and low and was about to folk out some of my hard earned cash when I came accross Zencart. This is a brillient Open Source (Free) shop front. It is on the same lines as Ecommerce. You will need to be able to stummble through the database setup but the online forum is great to find all the answers as well as an install runthrough manual. The Zencart is fully customable with heaps of templates on offer. I have read of people putting some 20,000 items in it, well worth a check out.

The latest version has Pay Pal facilities. I personally paid a third party company $250 AUS to take the credit card payments, but Zencart will take the cards as well. For security it stores half the number on the server and emails you the other half. So for the price of hosting and web registration you can have a shop front for under $50.00, in any currency!

here is another page I found with a heap on it.

Cheers
Jaden

Thanks Jaden, I've tried ZenCart however your quite limited to how much you can customise the design. I've built the site using layers and it looks quite unique. ZenCart kind of kills this.

This is why I thought about Paypal. Simple buttons on my design and processes everything on Paypal.
