These a very different type of hosting services. When it comes to virtualization the network and the hardware are only one side of the things. The other one is the virtualization technology the web hosting provider uses to power their services.

When it comes to the Dedicated hosting, the network and the hardware really matters more.

when it comes to "who's best" I can not compare web hosts for you. My suggestion is to have your own requirements and not to search for "best host", but to try to find which one is better for your projects.

Dedicated Servers are obviously more expensive than virtual hosting but you get a lot more for you money, they are more reliable you get more resources assigned to your online applications and you not sharing it with anyone else so nobody elses site can suck all the servers resources.

The best thing to do is start off with a normal hosting account and test your site's performance and reliability and see if it warrants you getting your own server.

However dedicated web hosting is costly than virtual web hosting but you get lots of feature with that, most importantly it is more secured and if you are looking for SEO for your website then dedicated hosting is highly recommended.
