munkyn is an unknown quantity at this point
I use dyndns free service to point to my webserver at home, things to note on how mines setup:-

wan IP (internet address, not a private IP i.e. 192.168.*** or 10.***) added to account in dyndns

I created a hostname of my machine in dyndns so my web address is http://hostname.dyndns.org (dyndns.org is one of the many free domain names you can choose)

Install ddclient (linux version as is my host/server) and set it to update every * mins so as that my ddlcient updates any changes in my ip (virgin ip and has only changed twice in 5 years)

Enable port forwarding (port 80 - http) on my router

Start apache on my Linux host, creating web pages beforehand

My Router (netgear 854n) actually has a login for dyndns.com - user name and password added, bu this is optional dependent on your router. (optional)

By the time you have done all this, then it should be up and running, sounds harder than it is, hope this helps

regards

munkyn
