Host that Allows Remote SQL Connections? - HTML Forums

Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone knew a host that would allow me to connect remotely to a mySQL server. My current host does not allow remote connections and I have to go through phpMyAdmin, which can be slow and annoying at times (I'm used to using SQL Sever Management Studio). I want to be able to run the mySQL GUI Tools or separate my data from my actual web files. Oh, cheap would be nice too. Thanks!

I think tha you have to go through shared web hosting providers first of all. But ask directly befor signing up to save you time and maybe money. Have a look at utropicmedia.net sghared packages. They seem offer one of the best shared accounts.
And do not forget ask.

Try http://globaltap.com, they allow external mysql access if you ask for it, and the prices are very reasonable for shared hosting.

Yes, you are right "www.drupalvaluehosting.com" is offering unlimited Mysql DB. I am using their services from last couple of months and have high satisfaction level. Moreover their rates are very affordable along with quality services.

Looks like this thread turned in to another spam fest but most web hosting companies that use cpanel with their hosting will allow you to access your mySQL database externally by adding "wildhosts" in the database control panel. jaguarpc is one of those hosts I would recommend, but there are many others.
