I'm after a domain that is an abbreviation to our main website. It is currently registered, but according to the whois, was supposed to have expired on the 26th of April.

I contacted the registra and they just commented "Yeah, that's weird". I'm sure there are some privacy things. Is this a situation where I could indicate to IDACC about wrong Whois information?

The owners of the website have absolutely no content up on the site, it's just parked by the registra. It's been registered for almost 10 years...

How often does whois information update? Any suggestions on how to obtain this domain when it's supposed to be expired? I'm considering trying to contact the person down in the whois, but would much rather just get it if it's not being used... I had hoped that no one was paying attention, it wouldn't renew and I'd grab it.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
