new to db's - HTML Forums

ok i am new to this but what i'm needing is something to "register" and to sign in using a db

i have access to MySQL and the db name is "b18_4043037_users" and why the b18_404037_
part is on there i'm not sure but it's what the server done when i made it

all i have done with this is create it not sure if i'm supposed to put any tables into it or if that is
something that is done when the "register" page is used and puts info into it

but i need this to take the register page and add the username and password info into the db
(and if possible maybe email the information to the user as well) using the following form

HTML Code:

<form action="" method="post">
<p>username: <input type="text" name="username" size="13"></p>
<p>email: <input type="text" name="email" size="13"></p>
<p>password: <input type="password" name="password" size="13"></p>
<input type="submit" name="register" value="register">
</form>

and then the sign in page being the same form minus the email field and comparing the information
that is in the db to what was submitted before sending to the page that they are trying to get to

any help with this will be greatly appreciated

I suggest you read some tutorials that involves mysql and database interaction.
It takes up some code/time to write that kind of system and it will take some time to you to figure it out.
