Question Help me I'm drowning.....

I must admit that I have no HTML, SQL, PHP, knowledge and am completely lost. I am trying to create a virtual mall to help raise money for a charity and I would like to use a database of merchants, so when someone pushes a department button on the page all the ads for that category will be posted for viewing neatly on a web page. That way I do not have to create separate pages for each category. Any ideas? Suggestions? I tried to go to the bookstore and am just overwhelmed at the amount of books there are and do not know where to start...I am trying to get their site online by Sunday. So far I have only used iweb to create their pages.

Hi mate,

To be honest, unless you don't need to sleep, u didn't stand a chance of learning 3 programming languages in under 2 days. Even the quickest teach yourself guides are 24 hours. so you'd need a minimum of 3 days; but more like 3 months.

Before we can help you, we need some information.

I'll write out several points, if you don't understand them, just ask.

We need to know:

Webhosting package, and webhost. So we know what technologies you've got to work with.

Database type and table layout with merchants data in it.
VERY IMPORTANT: is there any other data in the merchants database? Like payroll, because if there is we'll have to go down a different route.

Have you got a template/website that you want to attach this to? so we know what you're looking for.

How do you want to lay the page/data out? (just draw us a basic box design, in ms paint, save it as a png and attach it to a post).
See attached example.

Thanks,

Matthew Millar
