Beginner Question

Hi All -

Great forum and excellent resources. Just diving into some CSS and I could use your advice.

I have built this website : http://www.marltonrotary.org

I realize it may be ugly, but I'm trying to build something simple as the group that the website targets is typically older and maybe not have flash/java and the other plug-ins required for some of the more advance sites. Not only that, but I hope to transfer the reigns over to the group one day so I'd like to keep it simple.

With simplicity being the theme, my simple question is how can I center this website and make the current website one sheet with white on both sides? This way the content will get smaller/larger depending on the size of the end user's browser. I used to know how to do this and it was a simple fix, but it's been a while (similar to this website http://moorestownnj.clubwizard.com/.

Any advice (or criticism) is welcomed!

-E

Hi there XtremeSki2001,

and a warm welcome to these forums.

Tables should not really be used for page layout purposes.
With this in mind, check out the attachment for a reworking of your page.

Clutch zip file. You made my ugly page look pretty nice. Looks like I have some reading to do to do modify the page a bit.

Thank you!!

Coot - thanks again.

Follow-up ... the people I'm building the website want more functionality then I can support skill wise.

Is there any web based software or programs that would allow the club to build and manage online content on their own?

Otherwise, I think I may run Joombla and use their standard website template.
