Sending POST vars automatically

For a site i'm making, the users will use the same username and password as for the webmail service. I want to make a link in the menu of my site, which would act as a submit button for an invisible form which then logs them into webmail using POST vars.

Is there a way to use a text link as a submit button for a form? Or is there another way to send POST vars automatically?
