was thinking of buying my lady a graphics tablet to help with her graphic design studies. Can anyone recommend a good one?

I've got a Wacom Graphire, and it's a good intermediate tablet. It doesn't have all the features of a higher-end product, but I like this one because it's simple. The pen could be better though (I'd like something with a bit more weight to it).
Whatever you get, make sure to get one that is at least 8x10 inches (or so). Anything smaller is very difficult to draw on.
Also, there is a "learning curve" with a graphics tablet - it was very difficult for me to use when I first got mine, but now it's just as natural as writing/drawing on a sheet of paper.

Yeah, I think so. Ask any designer who uses a graphics tablet, and most will say they use a Wacom.
