Firstly, I'll say that I have made this thread after another one I read on another forum - I have, however, rewritten it. All the quotes I did not myself compile to a list, but the guy who made the thread did, and I give him the credit, Rico at the Frihost forums.

Secondly, I admit this is a somewhat gloomy topic, but I feel we should take it slightly lightly.

If you got the chance to say your last words out loud - i.e, you didn't get killed in an instant my some drunk driver, etc - what would you last words be?

<begin other thread copy>My favorite famous last word quotes are those of individuals condemned to die by execution. I imagine that at a time like that whatever you say is going to be profound, especially if you fluff it and say something totally arbitrary. The winner of all time doff things to say just before you leave this mortal coil is that of Marie Antoinette, the last queen of France. She said “Pardonnez-moi, monsieur." Approaching the guillotine, she unintentionally stepped on the foot of her executioner.

This is a good one, trust the Irish. Erskine Childers - Irish patriot -1922 - firing squad. “Take a step forward, lads. It will be easier that way.”

This must be an American. Francis Crowley – 1931 – electric chair. “You sons of :censored:. Give my love to Mother.”

It absolutely amazes me how some guys keep their sense of humor right until the bitter end. James French -1966- electric chair. “How about this for a headline for tomorrow's paper? French fries”

This one’s kinda poetic, gotta love a guy that’s good with words. Robert Alton Harris -1992 – gas chamber (nasty way to go). “You can be a king or a street sweeper, but everyone dances with the Grim Reaper.”

<end copy /?>

So, what would you say?

Sad enough, some might say, my life revolves around a computer. Some time I might even evolve 95 extra fingers so I can type at lightning speed! Anyhow, most of my friends I have never met, but they are the only real good friends I have. I have one guy, who I meet every two-three weeks, but that's it. I am on my own. Whatever, lets not get into all that ;D
So, my last words would be something along the lines of this:

"Tell my family I love them. <insert more personal stuff here /?> Please tell the guys at HTMLforums and the Gentoo-uk/dk irc channel how I died. I love you all, good<DEAD>"

So, errr, yeah! That's the thread! Post your possible last words. If you feel this is too sickly to talk aboot, go to Word Games, were we are currently squashing the Ferret under my foot :)

Not sure what I'd say but I've always been amused by the line on Spike Milligan's headstone which reads "I told you I was ill"

Thanks for that, Vege, thanks. :bitter:

Anyway, my last words... probably "I thought you'd get me eventually" or something along those lines...

Mine would be " Hold onto my beer, I wanna try something " OR " Of course I know what I'm doing "

Heh... Who was it who's last words were 'Channel Five is s***."? Some rocker, I think...

Hmmm... My choice of last words would be something on the lines of:

"Though Birnam wood be come to Dunsinane,
And thou opposed, being of no woman born,
Yet I will try the last. Before my body
I throw my warlike shield. Lay on, Macduff,
And damn'd be him that first cries, 'Hold, enough!'"

I highly doubt I would know the answer, though I can give a few suggestions:
"Cut the blue wire?"
"I wonder what this button does..."
"Oh, c'mon, they're harmless!"

but more than likely, "oops"
Although I do like the sound of this quote: "Alas, fate hath dealt me yet another cruel hand." Maybe I'm copying Macbeth a little too closely there... Hmm... I'll need more time to think about it.

I have no idea what I would say. But, I'll make sure to tell you guys when I've had the experience ;)

Couple I think are funny...

"Pull the pin and count to what?"

"And now that I'm running my life support equipment through Windows 95, I'll never have to worry about-- beeeeeeeep..."

well, this morning, my last words were almost "cheers"... I said this to the shop assistant as I left after buying a bottle of coke, then got in my car, and as I went around a roundabout I was almost t-boned by van on the inside who decided to cut three lanes to get off the next exit as I was following my lane round...

I'm a little shaky now...

Mine will be either
"Watch this!"
or
"I think I'm going to lie here and bleed for a little bit."

I was going to write a book at one point (best laid plans, etc.), where absolutely every character dies, and they all get to have their final words, and they all say something peculiar or funny.
