layout is amazing you have an insane talent in graphic design. the movie is incredible. if i was looking for a mail provider i'd choose this over yahoo, because it looks actually more professional than yahoo

great job!

That is the nicest email site I have seen for a long while :) Did you do all the graphics yourself? With designs like that you could make a fortune as a professional web developer.

Nice looking site, but I don't think it's displaying as you would want it to in Opera. You might want to check it out.

ditto on the rest of the comments. the movie is a nice feature for startes. with the availability of broadband you may use that area for video tutorials or video highlights of an existing feature to market it. i would make it a static image and leave it up to the user to load the movie. but i must say it is quite impressive work. hats off to all the developers. when will it actually be live so you can serve accounts?

i just noticed some scripting errors. just go through all the pages and mouse all the clicks and you will see them. for example the tabindex on the sign up form should only go to the fields not the labels.

Thank you all!

MailSting.com is now in beta and will soon be officially launched.. You can sign up and reserve your username.

It is currently optimised for Internet explorer but the rest will be made compatible- hence any errors for other browsers on the site.

As well as the design the site has so many features, some that you will never have seen before! One of many- create new images online then save and send them to mobiles phones – World Wide! You can even set the date and time of when to deliver the SMS/Wap Push.

Earn Loyalty Stings for Invites and Email to MailSting.com – use these for all our services.

Within the Month- MailSting will have a desktop Messenger with VOIP calls and free PC to PC calls (your existing MailSting Username will be your Messenger ID – so reserve it now). Also, all the latest content at the lowest prices around- All payable against Stings Earned!

Please take a look and provide more feedback.

I did not like the animation. Nope... I found it to be laced with mediocrity and for me.. If you break it down and analyze it carefully it inspires loathing. Other than that, the site looks cool. Better luck next time.

Layout pukes big time in Firefox... and pretty much every browser other than IE.

I don't appreciate all the activeX warnings in IE, I know I personally and assume most others are going to follow the browser's precautions and not bother to enable activeX. That hurts some of your site's functionality.

The speech bubbles were overdone if you ask me, it is obnoxious to roll my mouse over the page and have speech bubbles popping out at me. Generally speaking the site is too javascript enabled.. I disabled it and had a better time viewing the page. However this caused some of the features that open new pages to not work properly (started opening in new windows and so on)... anyone who browses with javascript disabled will have difficulties reaching some information.

You are tacking the PHPSESSID onto the ends of urls, that is a terrible idea because search engines hate this, and if they do index the page the PHPSESSID goes with it making it very hard to get rid of. The only solution involves 301 redirects and months of waiting for indexing to catch up again.. Believe me.. I am experiencing these problems.

The page is done in tables, which is outdated. Consider moving on to CSS, and convert all the javascript possible to CSS. The page fails to validate with the W3C standards, for starters you don't have a doctype.

Content is overwhelming... consider spacing it out and taking things a little more step by step. I am lost the second I enter the site.. the intro didn't explain much to me or make much sense. "Feature Packed Communication", I don't understand what that is supposed to be.

I think it is an okay site, it has a whole lot of coding work yet... and imho quite a bit of design issues with overloaded javascript, and overloaded content on pages.

ericso sums it up pretty well, nice graphics in IE, mostly bad in all others.

Coding needs some redoing before going live.

The layout looks great. I found that it only works in IE version 6 though. If you use IE version 7, there are a few problems. see picture:

I also find the speech bubbles a bit annoying and distracting.

Flash not loading in FF and well as issues with the bottom box (the one with all the icons) in FF ;)

Otherwise ... good stuff!

put yahoo.com or hotmail.com in http://validator.w3.org/check?

They have more then MailSting.com

Doesn't mean you need to follow in their footsteps!

Looking at your code ... well ... what a mess that is! HTML 4 loose DOCTYPE with a table-layout ... get with the times! HTML 4 Strict or XHTML Transitional and CSS-layouts! ;) Seperate structure from presentation. It will ALOT easier to update in the future :agree:

I see you've removed that bottom block with the icons? That's too bad ... I kinda liked it. It added fun color to the site.

Hey this MailSting rocks but under the microscope there could be a few little bugs but when i get time ill post in more detail but for now i think its briliant.

But with MSN and Yahoo as opposition they have got some hard work to do.

At first sight I noticed a big mass of white space, which would look better if it was filled with something. But the rest of the site is great, good layout and naviagtion. All looks very smooth, and soft.

Nice work

About Us ---> navigation: the very outside border is not aligned properly.

Home/Recommend! --> the edge effect on the banner may be better as a simple gradient fade and you may want to experient on the colors because it seems heavey on the gray.

Home/Messenger --> It is heavey havng a flash loading as well as the video on the same page. There is already an explanation of the messenger under the email tap form the top menu.

And you probably want someone who is good in writing to look at the terms, privacy, and other pages.( Copy errors) Decide what format you will like to use for the site for all your copy. Come up with a style guide for it (APA, MLA, Chicago Manual).

in my opinion, the number of links on the page is overwhelming.... average computer useres are going to be so overwhelmed and confused by the number of options they have, they will more than likely just go back to something they already know... IE: yahoo, aol, hotmail, etc.

Cut down the number of links... make the direction clear and easy. You have to think in terms of every person who uses the internet, not just the computer savvy ones.

I completely agree. There are far too many tabs and everything is cluttered on the top of the page. Also, please dont get offended, but I dont understand why everyone likes the layout. It seems rather plain and old school. The icons are good, but the rest of the site seems just too simple and not in a good way (again no offense) The animation is cool, but seems out of place... would be better as an intro.

These are just my thoughts... it does sound like you offer some nice services and I might be interested if the site werent soo overwhelming to look at.

Sam

I did take a look at the site. I'm not about to become a member just to review your site, though.

Thank you, I have blogs and email accounts enough. If all you're going to do is troll for members, the links to your site will be removed and the thread closed.

cool- dont need to 'troll for members' just want feedback before the site is offically launched.

the feedback from this forumn- has been and is very helpful for the site development.
