I am trying to VPN into a remote server (my other computer). the Netgear befxsr41(spelling?) with vpn support is at the server end, and i was trying to see if i can use a NO-IP address to map the vpn address to. ( http://no-ip.com)
Anyhow, what is the proper way to set this up . I am getting the vpn adapters conected no problem, but do i \really need an outside vpn client/server program on one or both of the machines? isnt there a way to accomplish this wtih just windows components? all i want is intranet to intranet access,(which would mean i would need a tunnel right? and thats not possible with the befsr41 that i have on this end.) or if that catn be done then atleast one way in to the server from remote for dynamic email inbox storage use(no tunnel just passthrough?).
then the workgroups need to be the same right?
then files need to be shared using permissions.
all this is already done. but still no connection.
But, i havent installed any vpn client software yet, and looking for a good free one, ONLY if necessary.
