enhancing apache log files

Hello,

I am trying to get better info from my log files - I know there are all these extensions to get browser types and all, but there are no examples how to use them...
my current log directives:
LogFormat "%a %h %l %u %t \"%r\" %>s %b \"%{Referer}i\" \"%{User-Agent}i\" \"%q\"" combined
LogFormat "%{User-agent}i" agent
LogFormat "%h %l %u %t %>s" common
LogFormat "%{Referer}i -> %U" referer

but they don't seem to pick up referers... or user agents and I want to use %q ...


if anyone could explain this to me i would be very greatful
