Hey, I just noticed the announcement in The Lounge, about AceHTML 6 Pro being free for us for a limited time =)

I just downloaded it, at school, I shall not activate it for now, but, it seems like a very nice application for Windows users, and, apart from the thing that you'd be wise in chosing NOT to install that toolbar in the installation, then it really seems nice :D

I'd get this app, at least the registration code, as this is great for personal use I think :)
Anyone tried it?

I didn't notice that so I've just looked in the tools of the trade forum and have just downloaded it now. I will try it when I get home. I had version 5 perviously and found it quite good. Easy to use, particularly when creating style sheets

NOX - When did you download it? How long did it take for your registration key to be sent to you?

EDIT: Just received it :D I cannot afford DW so I'm looking forward to using this.

installing it right now... had you not mentioned the toolbar I would've installed it because they setup the screen as if it was a license agreement :P

I tried it but didn't like it, i'm sticking with notepad2 :) Oh and if you do decide to try it make sure you untick the box which installs a toolbar on your browser on installation

I will never let go of notepad2, it's my best friend :D But I'm always open to looking at other software. And yes, many thanks to Jason.

I have notepad 2, on the suggestion of someone from this forum. Can't remember who. Seems to work well at making documents all pretty.

Can't say the colours are actually good for much, mind; there's still a sea of stuff to look at. ;)

http://www.htmlforums.com/showpost.php?p=485064&postcount=2 possibly? ;)
I actually find the colours and synatx highlighting help, and it is the main reason I now use 2 instead of just plain notepad.

Well, I guess that would indeed be the exact place it was suggested ;)

And I find the colours very useful with my own code, but no-one else seems to care much for the level of order that I impose on my documents. When things are all over the place it just makes it harder for me as, I've mentioned this countless times by now (what does she want, a medal?), I have poor eyesight. Soooo many colours makes things a little tricky.

This is kind of an old thread, but for an update I've been using it quite a bit lately. I will say that I don't use many of the buttons at the top, but luckilly that's easily customizable on the fly (see screenshot for how I prefer to run it). I use the FTP feature a lot, and I like how the interface is set up. I will say that if you use anything other that completely normal anchor (<a>) tags for your links it won't recognize them in the visual explorer or code explorer, but that's OK for me because I never use the visual explorer, and I only use the code explorer to view functions.

I'm actually using this program right now, so I'll get back to work. I guess I'll give it a 4/5, because it's a good work environment, but if you want to use any of the frills features you can't do anything very complicated, which bugs me a little cause I use AJAX quite a bit.

Thanks Bendman for supplying the information, a picture of what the software looks like and how workable it is, very much appreciated!

I downloaded the program but never got around to figuring out what it's capable of doing...

What's this Notepad2? I'm still trying to find the time to make my own (I got the basic structure, just no time to program in bits that help me with my common style... not that I have time for a style anyway  )

Notepad 2 is a freeware program similar to windows notepad. The good thing about it is the fact it has code colouring. Once you have saved the file you are working on,it recognises the file extension and colour co-ordinates your code, colouring that you can specify if you wish to take the time to configure it. It's a very good piece of freeware in my opinion.

DOWNLOAD IT HERE (http://www.flos-freeware.ch/notepad2.html)

Another good piece of freeware I use is PSPad Editor (http://www.pspad.com/) :)
It actually has more features than N2.
