AJAX <SELECT> Help

Hi, i was just wondering if i could get some help on a music player i have been writing. I need to have 3 select boxes (this is the same idea as the browse menu in itunes btw) which display Artist/Album/Song Title. All the song info is from an xml file i have written and i was hoping to be able to extract certain pieces of info from it depending on what of the other fields have been selected. I also need to be able to get th song file name to change the player current track. My xml code is as follows:

I've tried but AJAX really confuses me so could you please not pressume I understand all the syntax. Thanks.
