After seeing the generally lame submissions (my opinion) to an online 15 second film contest, I decided to submit my own, and my entry was rejected. I would be interested to get your opinions as to why I was rejected.
The contest site: http://clips.mylifemycard.com/
my clip: http://www.godogo.com/flight3.mov

BTW, if you rush you can post your own 15 second film, but today is the deadline for the contest. After that, I think you can still post videos, but the contest will be over. After being rejected, I don't exactly like promoting the site, but in all fairness there's no reason why you shouldn't be given the opportunity.

Sorry, but IMHO, that video was boring, had no real idea behind it, and you just ended it making the viewer think 'HUH?!'

I value your opinion. I'm too close to the film, but I heartily disagree with you. I think my film has a stronger, clear and nuanced idea behind it. It doesn't have the "America's Funniest Home Video" 123 punch to it, which I find boring for a Martn Scorsese film competition. My film is about the imagination of a boy, watching a wasp metamorphize into a fairy. I don't see any idea missing there.

I really liked the clip entitled "I'm an Astronaut" by Darcy Frey... pretty cool.

Believe it or not, I used 6 different programs:
iMovie (for quick editing, and some effects)
Final Cut Pro (for more advanced editing and layering)
LiveType (for effects)
Soundtrack (for sound track)
Quicktime (for misc file conversion)
Poser 6 (for fairy - if I had the luxury of a longer film, the fairy would be more animated and visible)
