...hadn't we already discussed the necessity of threads like this one?
...and by "necessity," I'm referring to the lack-of..

seriously, folks. Congrats 'n all, but why does your post count make any difference whatsoever in what you post? Seems to be the wrong reasons for posting in the first place, if you ask me..

C'mon juparis, your post count is something to be proud of. I know i'm proud of mine. Now not every single one of my posts has actually helped someone, but who can honestly say that that is the case for themselves? A large majority of my posts are of benefit to atleast one person and I try to help whenever I can. I don't post to increase my count, I post to help. Therefore when you reach 1k it's the nearest you can have to a really good milestone of help :D

i-don't-know is right, I was so proud of hitting 100 posts, imagine how happy I'll be at 1000.

Hehe, thanks Disturbed. The amount of time and effort everone gives to this community, why shouldn't we be allowed to get some congraulations on our achievements? :)

i agree what juparis and what i-dont-know is saying...a post count is something to be proud of, if you know that the majority of ur posts were relevant and necessary..yet it still does not mean much as it is not an accurate description of your useful posts, if comparing post counts of some members to others... Yet I know when i reach 1000 posts it will mean something (to me) as I aint a conversationalst, but for others 1000 posts doesn't mean much...at the end of the day it doesnt mean much to others...what really matters is your reply and posts content and not how many you have written...but if you are proud of it, then thats cool, but don't take it too seriously cos really it don't mean much

True, a proud user's post count is good, but we are getting loads of these threads, and, as I have realised, it is not the post count that matters.. It's what people post. Now, you all know I post too much, but then again, I don't post loads of really really helpfull stuff, like _Aerospace_Eng_, for example..

Isn't that like a double negative? Your saying you post too much and it's not helpful:confused:

I think that's what he meant.. At least he admits it. :P

I myself don't think to be proud of a number--if anything, we should be proud of our reputation levels, and not how many times we've posted (good and bad). Even if it is some sort of accomplishment, it's nothing to brag about (although if it were, I think some of the mods would have us all beat ;) ). With that said, my reputation level's a tad low. :( Too much time in the spam box, I guess.

Not what I meant.. I meant, I spend too much time at my PC (( at least others think so )), and I help when I can, but not as much as Aero. I mainly stick in the Word Games, where post counts don't count :D

and yet you seem to have the highest post rate here....

post count has never been important to me - if you are a good contributor to the community (regardless of whether you're posting primarily in a Q&A section or just the lounge) then it doesn't matter if you're posting once a day or once a month...

Exactly my point! I don't care about post count, and yet I post so much here. Because, I like posting, and this place is about half my life :P

Get the point, or do I have to explain further?
