I wanted to add some sound clips to my website. What would the best format be and is there special code? (like for adding flash there is code you need to have for it to work.)

Thanks
Tim

it all depends on what you want or expect your viewers to have, what bandwith you want your server to use, and loadtime. For whopping unlimited bandwith servers that require little for client side, i recomend Shoutcast server (www.shoutcast.com) or you can stream it with real audio (.rm or .ram) which requires a little more speed for the clients for smooth content, and when it comes to the flash items/plugins, .mp3 format with something like a preloader (that one i'm not sure on though). With the shoutcast, there is a small program that needs to be installed and configed on the server (great tutorial on the site), with the real audio you will only need to upload the rm or ram file(s) and for the flash... i'm still not sure.

i know some of the other members can help you out with the flash dev.!
have fun with it!

So, If I created a real audio file then would it play off the site. Could I set it up to download, then play?

Thanks for your help!

thats in the options for saving. .ra file format is for streaming, .ram if for complete client side download before play. (i might have those backwards though)

hope it helps!
