Hi,

I'm creating a web site for my art and I'm at a loss for what the home page (index page) should entail. I have looked at several sites and it seems that most are artists who are not web developers or know of any web developers, because their first page of the site is their gallery. I do not agree with this approach of marketing.

Can you suggest some alternative ideas for "Home Page" content?

Mmmm whats better than being hit with a gallery? shows striaght off what you style is. but its your site and you have a perception of how you want it (and thats all that matters).

how many pieces will you be showcasing?

how many different styles do you have? if the answer is 2/3/4 then maybe a piece from each should be showcased. that way the customer can know straight away if they are at the right place.
