My site has become so popular in... 16 days :D that it's being moved over to a dedicated server (which I'm not paying for)... anyhow do I need to know anything about dedicated servers? I'm not doing the admin, just accessing it via normal FTP etc.

Once my site gets really good I will post the URL on htmlforums, I'm having a professional webdesigner do the layout (he offered and he is good :D)...

It will be nice to be on a super fast server, I've checked the connection to it and it is super fast :D

It's a standard HTML based site, no downloads to be seen - so I'm getting shear amounts of pageviews rather than less downloads.

If you are just planning to host your site on a dedicated server, you do not really need to know about how to admin a server. However, I'd suggest you to learn the basics so you can tweak it to your needs, just in case you plan to do more in the future. :)

...wow that sounds expensive, I though it was like $500 a month for a dedi server!

You do need some expertise for a dedicated server. Installing software etc. Unless it is completely managed.
