Hi Trboguy,

Well, I suppose that it would depend on what you want the hits for. I'm guessing that they come from some free webhost 404 redirect, or something else similar. So if you want the traffic to run your counter up, and burn some banners, then it is worth it, but if you expect return traffic from the endeavor, I would not go for it.

I could be wrong though, so it is important that you ask the source of the traffic, an of the banners. Only then can you gauge the value.

you might wanna use http://www.submitmart.com
they have a place where you can advertise to 125 000 FFA pages for free.
You MUST have an extra valid e-mail address for junk mail, by the quantity of return I got in my e-mail junk box , submitmart does submit to FFA Pages. How many? I dont know, but when I use it I get about 400 e-mails back saying something like tks for posting to my FFA pages bla bla bla

------------------------------------------------------

Adlandpro.com is also a place where if you become a free member you can place a banner for free it has more than 7000 member at this time.
pls if you intend to use adlandpro.com it would be nice if you let me know as I am part of their affiliate program and we are all looking for new members...
let me know by e-mail at drachir@themail.com
and I will e-mail you back my url. tks ahead.

hope this will help you.

Here is what they said after asking them where they got there hits from.....

Hello,

Here is an excerpt from our site on where the visitors come from:

"We run this program in addition to our core business which is building
networks. We have developed a creative way for companies we build networks
for to offset some of their network costs. They essentially display
advertising on their computers in exchange for reduced fees. It is similar
to what the free ISP's like NetZero do. In exchange for free internet
access, NetZero displays an ad on your computer while you are online.

"We started this program over three years ago. When we first introduced it,
much of the traffic came from a couple of internet learning centers. This
company has centers that teaches people how to use the computer and the
internet. We controlled what sites the users at the learning center would go
and visit. So when you joined our mass marketing program, your site was one
of the sites visited.

"Today, the visitors come from all sorts of places. They range from senior
citizens first learning how to use the internet, to twenty-somethings using
a bar kiosk. An example of when your site will be displayed is when someone
uses a kiosk to check on, say, the weather, a stock price or sports score,
your site will be displayed alongside that information."
