Since yesterday, i've been scratching my head to find out why some layers on my website align perfectly at any resolution and some others, written the exact same way
became out of placement whe viewing at resolution higher than 1024x768.
Please look at main page www.yannickbardieux.com
- The layers misplaced are at the main page. (the round "echo pirelli" picture at the top and the series of company logo at the bottom)
- The correct positionned layers are located in section "Calendrier" of the menu. There are located over each of the little "maps" picture.
Since the layer code is the same for both pages, i'm kind of puzzled....
I know it's probably a minor problem for many of you but.....
Thank you for any help.

These are some complex tables. I would suggest running them through the validator... I will take a look at them and get back to you later. Could I also see the working version?

You said there was two pages coded exactly the same. One works and one does not. I want to see both.

I said the "layers" are coded exactly the same.
well, the first one is located on the main page, so it's http://www.yannickbardieux.com/index.html
The second one is much less crowded: http://www.yannickbardieux.com/calendrier.html

After reading several documents and tutorials on layer positioning, i finally understand. And it worked.
So i will apply it to my website in a few hours.
Also, now i share the opinion of so many others about FrontPage, many many bugs regarding embedding flash and inserting relative layers. From now on, Dreamweaver will be my best friend.

I like to understand what I am doing. I have NEVER used a WYSIWYG editor in my life. Without relying on something else to do my work, I know the boundries of what I can do with the coding, and what I need to solve problems. Also like translating from one language to another, any visual editor will interpret many things incorrectly resulting in piles and piles of excessive coding. Just be careful of how you use the program, as dreamweaver has the potential to interpret correctly.

Heh, i first started using Word to save as html. Then was perplexed when it viewed differently in my browser at the time than in word itself. So I started looking up html guides and such to start becoming compliant with html 4.01 (closing tags for the win!). All of this having to do with putting some work related things in an html format. The next day I was informed I could no longer get online because I was on it too much the night before instead of working and we'd talk about it later. I never did get to present my case (or present the five addresses I was looking at 95% of the time that I had written down that were obviously html tutorials). I hated that job.
