I would like to know if you think the short blurbs next to the products make the screen look cluttered?

I realise my page does not validate so please dont tell me to come back when it does.

my site:Example Page (http://www.airsoftsupplier.co.uk/shop.php?cat=Tactical%20Equipment&sub_cat=Tactical%20Vests)

thanks

I re-sized my screen resolution to 1024x768, but it doesn't look cluttered to me. :) It looks a bit... 'empty' in anything bigger than 1024x768, but that's just personal opinion.

Also, try using a little bit more contrast in colours (it's too monotone and gets boring easily) and change the navigation menu to the left... It works for a few links, but when you get a list like that it gets easily confusing.

I think it looks fine. Cluttering is not a problem at all.

Hi thanks thats what i thought its just the other half of the company thinks it makes it look cluttered although i think you are right. What i wanted was quite empty and simple menu so navigation is easy but quite dense content so it it easy to find the products you are looking for.

thanks again (if anybody does think it looks cluttered please do post)

When I see this page, I see someting washed out with no definition or character. Try adding more colour, and make your menu links a bit less rough. Also, your text is overflowing in numerous areas with FF. Validation might help that...

The site serves it's purpose, but it looks depressing and boring. Just because you are selling army gadgets, does not mean the site look has to completely conform to that.

Hi i see what you mean and to some extenet i agree but we get quite confusing feedback from customers, all the feedback about layout, colour scheme etc has been positive the only negative feedback we have had was about the way our order tracking works, which has since been fixed.

I have asked here before about the site and people say things along the lines of "I see someting washed out with no definition or character." but never specify examples. Now my programming knowledge is C, and website backend i am by no means a graphic designer in fact when im not doing that website im studying physics. So what do you mean by character and definition?

thanks

I meant washed out, as I stated. What you need to do is introduce a few colours. Browns and greens are kinda boring together. If you feel the colours you have are already suitable, then maybe try adjusting the contrast. Right now everything is about the same shade, try using light and dark instead.

I think you are right there, our menu along the top used to have blue and orange in it but due to an expanding stock list we could not support that format any more so we had to change to the boring dropdowns i think i will add a bit of color to the top bar and perhaps some more colorful text for headings etc

Although since my art teacher asked me not to continue doing art in the next year colors and aesthetics have been a bit of a mystery to me!

thanks
